With more than 29 years in landscaping and horticulture, Robert Clinkenbeard brings tremendous experience and value to ILM’s clients. As a founding principal of the firm, Robert is responsible for company operations, while his partner, John Garigen focuses on Client relationships and new business development. It is this cohesive teamwork that has led to the growth and success of ILM and keeps Robert’s focus and vision of the company solid—to ensure the very best service and quality to every client.

Robert’s interest in horticulture started at a summer job in a nursery in Scotland and eventually led him to obtain a Degree in Horticulture and a Masters in Desert Landscaping after arriving in Arizona. While Robert saw landscaping as an element that is involved in every facet of life, he recognized the need to apply this passion and education in a formal business setting. By working as a Senior Manager for a City Parks in Scotland, Robert acquired knowledge in a diversity of settings including parks, sports fields, nurseries and cemeteries. This experience also allowed him to see the value of customer service and quality from the owner’s perspective, as well as maximizing landscaping impact with limited resources.

Robert relocated in the United States in 2000 and has since expanded his business training and education through one of the largest landscape companies in the US. As a certified arborist, irrigation professional and having immense experience with a diverse range of landscape climates, Robert contributes depth of knowledge and the ability to respond proactively to the benefit of the ILM clients.
