The Arizona Landscape Contractors Association held its Field Day at the Evergreen Turf Farm in Eloy on Saturday, April 28. Nearly 300 landscape contractors, members of the green industry, employees and their families enjoyed the action packed event.

Field Day sponsor hosted a variety of interactive and competitive team events. Team events included volleyball and a tug o' war contest with the loser being pulled into a very gooey puddle of mud. The individual events included a contest for skid steer race, golf chipping contest, fast pitch competition, plant identification, compact excavator, skid steer race, tennis ball launch, and pipe throw contest. Companies and individuals competed for the championship in each event and 1^st and 2^nd place plaques were given to the winners.

A delicious gourmet picnic of hamburgers and hot dogs were served thanks to ALCA member SunWest Appliance Distributing in Tempe.

Children of all ages enjoyed bouncing around and sliding down an inflatable bouncer, climbing on a rock wall, wagon rides around the field as well as petting lots of cuddly little critters in the petting zoo. Host, Jimmy Fox with Evergreen Turf, stocked the pond with catfish for all the fishermen, women and children.

Field Day is an excellent opportunity for sponsors to develop product and service knowledge ands name recognition. It is also an opportunity for landscape contractors, members of the green industry, employees and their families to take a break from the everyday work grind and enjoy an action packed, fun-filled day with fellow ALCA members. Chairperson, Nancy Coxe with Western Innovations said, "ALCA is very fortunate to have the generosity and support of the sponsors in order to make this event possible. I am sure they found it rewarding to see the looks on the faces of the many landscape contractors, their employees and families who were able to attend."
