2008 Awards Program
Arizona contractors, landscape architects and landscape designers were honored at “The Thirty-Second Annual Arizona Excellence in Landscaping Awards” program on November 22, 2008 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort - Tucson, Arizona. The Arizona Landscape Contractors’ Association (ALCA) sponsors the awards.

Jimmy Fox served as Master of Ceremonies.
This year ISS Grounds Control, Inc. – accepted the “best of show” Presidential Award for the outstanding innovative work on the Optima at Camelview in the category of Commercial Installation Over $1,000,000. Sponsored by Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting.
The Xeriscape Award went to Horizons West Landscape Contractors. for their outstanding water saving landscape design of the Hall-Kaufman Residence in the category SFR Installation $175,001-$250,000. Sponsored by Horizon.
The prestigious Landscape Contractor of the Year Award was given to Ed Macias, of The Groundskeeper for his outstanding service to the Association and the industry. Sponsored by Hill & Usher Insurance & Surety.
Nancy Coxe owner of Western Innovations was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Sponsored by Hunter Industries.
Monica Vega of Dream With Colors received the Outstanding Customer Service Award for building the highest standards in industry customer services. Sponsored by Helena Chemical Company, Inc..
Associate Member of the Year Award went to Jimmy Fox of Evergreen Turf. Sponsored by DLC Resources, Inc.
The Budding Contractor of the Year goes to Nickolas Miller of Integrated Horticultural Services, LLC. Sponsored by Ewing Irrigation Products.
In addition to these signature awards, 83 projects received awards in 30 different categories of residential and commercial areas of installation, maintenance projects. Judging is based on projects designed and constructed in Arizona by professional contractors and is based on both technical and aesthetic aspects of each project based on guidelines set forth by the Arizona Landscape Contractors’ Association.

The Arizona Landscape Contractors' Association Awards Program accepts submitted projects that have been designed and constructed in Arizona by professional contractors. Awards are given to those projects that demonstrate the highest landscape quality,
provide unique solutions to problems, conserve natural resources and enhance the environment.
